Looking for a place to get involved and volunteer? Come and volunteer at the SHARE warehouse and have a great time!!! Last month there were college students, entire families, and even personnel from the Naval Academy.
SHARE is a food network program that promotes volunteerism that generates the distribution of some 12,000 packages of wholesome and nutritious food each month.
At the warehouse, food is rebagged and packed for some 310 distribution sites to be picked-up over a two day period.
Directions to the SHARE warehouse and offices:
From the North: Take 95 South towards
Washington/Capitol Beltway. Get off at Kenilworth Ave South exit 23
towards Bladensburg. Follow for 5 miles. At 5 mile mark look to your left
and you will see a Citgo gas station. Turn left onto Lawernce Place. At
stop sign cross over 52nd Ave to the second block of Lawrence Place. SHARE
is the last warehouse on the left (marked very well).
From the South: Take 95 North towards Washington
Capitol Beltway. Go over Woodrow Wilson Bridge. Stay on 95 North to route
50 West (exit 19) towards Washington. Follow for 5 miles and get off at
Kenilworth Ave North. At second traffic light make a right on 52nd Ave.
Lawrence Place is the second right. SHARE is the last warehouse on the
left (marked very well).
This is an excellent opportunity to give back to the community. Take your family--they provide snacks and you'll have a great time helping others!
